On the day of your MRI scan, you should be able to eat, drink and take any medication as usual, unless you're advised otherwise.In some cases, you may be asked not to eat or drink anything for up to 4 hours before the scan, work, or play sports (unless you have an injury!) – and take any prescribed medications. However, there may be some circumstances in which you'll be given specific instructions to follow before the exam. These will be given to you by your doctor, or by his/her representative.
